​ NEW MOON in Capricorn . . .

What does the energy of a New Moon in Capricorn bring to us at the beginning of a new calendar year?
 
The sign of Capricorn offers clarity of desires and practical action that will warrant success.  This is great news as we sit perched upon the threshold of a brand new year.

All too often I have obliged myself to create New Year’s resolutions at the start of a new year, and yet as I reflect on years gone by I realize that the only thing New Year’s resolutions have ever done for me is made me feel badly about myself as I would allow these well indented New Year’s resolutions fall by the wayside.
 
Why so often, do I on purpose choose thoughts, ideas or even actions that sets me up for failure or that causes me to feel badly about myself.  In the past I have grasped at goals or ideas that were unrealistic and unattainable for me and yet I would cling to them in hopes that optimism alone would aid me in success.  Other times I became distracted and all too soon my newly set goals and intentions lay neglected and forgotten.  Although not everyone is like me, perhaps there is some recognition in what I am writing.
 
This first new moon of 2016 offers aid and clarity as we move forward into a fresh new year.  The strength, wisdom and sure footedness of Capricorn energy partnered with the new beginning energy of a New moon is a great time to reflect on what it is you really want.  As we embark upon a fresh new year, the best gift we can give ourselves is to create goals and set intentions based on what we long for rather than what we think we are obligated to do or be. 
 
These next 7 days I invite you to join me in being honest with yourself and examine what you truly long to accomplish, experience and do in this next year; then further examine these intentions that would span the year ahead to see how they can be accomplished in steps...monthly, weekly and daily. 
 
Like the mountain goat that symbolizes this New Moon’s Capricorn energy our goals and intentions are more easily met when we approach them one sure-footed step at a time.
